🥠 Buttery Almond Cookies

Soft-centered, buttery cookies with the warm, nutty aroma of almond extract and a satisfying crunch from slivered almonds.

  • Bake Time: 10–12 minutes
  • Total Time: ~25–45 minutes

✅ Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • egg yolk
  • 1 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup slivered or sliced almonds (for topping)
  • Optional: additional sugar for sprinkling

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in egg yolk and almond extract.
  3. Add flour and salt gradually until dough comes together. Dough will be soft.
  4. (Optional) Chill dough for 30 minutes for cleaner-shaped cookies.
  5. Roll into 1-inch balls and place on baking sheet. Flatten slightly. Press a few slivered almonds on top of each cookie.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are just golden. Do not overbake.
