INGREDIENTS :
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 clove of garlic, minced
2 tbsp. olive oil
salt and pepper
200 g of minced meat
200 g cooked rice
For the mozzarella:
120 g small balls of mozzarella
1 tsp dried herbs: thyme, rosemary, marjoram
2 tbsp. olive oil
For the breading:
2 egg yolks
2 tbsp. flour
5 tbsp. white breadcrumbs
Oil for frying
To serve:
Tomato sauce
PREPARATION :
1* Tips and tricks for making successful mozzarella-stuffed meatballs.
2* In a bowl, marinate the mozzarella balls in olive oil and herbs and set aside.
3* In a frying pan over low heat, sauté onion and garlic in olive oil, salt and pepper for 2 minutes.
4* In a bowl, mix the ground meat with the cooked rice, onion, garlic, salt and pepper.
5* Knead all the ingredients energetically to obtain a homogeneous preparation.
6* Make minced meat balls filled with mozzarella cheese.
7* Dip ground meatballs in flour, egg yolk and breadcrumbs.
8* Fry the mozzarella meatballs in hot oil until golden brown.
9* Drain the meatballs and pat them dry on paper towels.
10* Serve the meatballs hot with tomato sauce.
